Stray Sheep Syndrome

Matthew 6:1-6

“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.  But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,  so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.  But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Do you ever wonder why the people on earth treasure so much here on earth? That is part of the nature of sin, to covet for yourself all the treasures of the world on earth. That is why Jesus warned against it! But it is amazing to see how many people in this day and age still view it  as ‘okay’. People parade around their charities, their prayers, their everything. What they are coveting is not just the ‘items’ but they covet the praise of people, they covet the ‘to be seen’ by others–the attention given by others. They are craving the praise and admiration of others so they give and give and pray and pray…lengthy prayers of no value, donations that aren’t meant for good but for their ego. Why do they do it? These are the Christians I am talking about…
Why do Christians act like that world? Why are they putting on the performances that do nothing but damage the Gospel?  It is because they are not seeking the truth of the Gospel. People today are so self involved in their own well being that they will manipulate almost anything to use it for their own good. They are self seekers who dwell for their purpose only, not seeking the true Wisdom of the Lord. But they crave their needs more than the will of the Father above. Christians in America today are self absorbed by their own wills. Where does it come from?
It’s bred into every American, it’s expressed through the media by which most Americans live by—Americans are no longer the respectable, intelligent people that they once were. They are now the dellusional, emotionally stricken, depraved people that have no education because they persue their eyes rather then enhance their minds. Americans look to the leaders for their actions, and have lost their own sense of value. They are led down the path of life, grasping to the media they consume. Christian Americans are no longer different from their world…They are identical to their world–They have lost their true calling. Why? Why did they lose their callling—because they have grown lazy. They are fed the word on power points, instead of grasping the Bible in their own hands to read it. They watch it on TV rather sit in a Church Pew…They prefer the Entertainment Value of ‘Worship’ rather than persue God’s Glory…They’d rather feel entertainined than be convicted. They prefer their comfort. American Christians are LAZY and GREEDY.
Romans 13:11-14 (NIV)
And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.  The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.  Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.
That is the answer of what must happen! We must clothe ourselves in the righteouness–not of ourselves, but the righteouness of Christ Jesus through whom we stand redeemed! We must read on our own, we must study ourselves! Christian Americans should be able to stand on their own, but under submission to leadership where they can grow. We as Christians are sheep with a Shepard—Pastors lead their flocks. Pastors are led by the Spirit of God and annointed to lead Jesus’ flock!
A great comic strip says what happens when the sheep have strayed, and many Christians have strayed:

Stray sheep are easily picked off by the Devil. Stray sheep are stubborn and do not read the word. Stray sheep come in many different forms, and all are guided by their own interests. They do not follow God, they follow themselves. This is the biggest and most easy way for the Devil to make you ineffective as a Christian. That is all his goal is, Satan, to make you ineffective in spreading the Word around that Jesus is the one true path to God, and that all human efforts will ultimately fail.
Galatains 2:15-19

“We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.   “But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesn’t that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker.  “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God.
We must realize as Christians, that our works are not going to win us to Heaven…that these parades and charades we put on are only dampering our ability as Christians to truly spread the Gospel! It is by FAITH…and faith comes by hearing and believing the Word of God…Faith comes by learning the Truthes held within the very pages of the Bible itself. Faith comes from Listening to the Holy Spirit’s teachings. Faith is reliance on Jesus, not reliance on ourselves. Reliance…as we are taught to self reliant in America, Jesus teaches us that we must rely on Him  Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”
That is the simple truth that Christians seem to miss all the time…Keep that proverb close to your heart, and you will never stray. The point in all this is that Christians need to return to seeking the answers for themselves instead of being taught through media what is the correct way of handling situations. They are too reliant on the  World’s View and it is allowing Satan to crush the Gospel in the ‘normal’.
The call to return to learning…
Be  Educated through the Word…
Become a student of Jesus not a student of the World.
This is the New Year’s Resolution of this Christian…
Spead the Word!
Some Good Chapters to Help Overcome Issues with who’s in the Driver’s Seat:
Matthew Ch.6
Romans 13+14
Galatians 2
Romans Ch. 8
And might as well just re-read through the Gospels…just so you see how Jesus gives his words. Listen to the Holy Spirit within you!

Just some random thoughts…Nothing Special.

So, this week as been an interesting week, but it has given me plenty of time to think and pray. Did you know that we have duel forms? As Christians, we’ve got our inner man and our outer man. The  Outerman is the one that everyone sees! The inner is the Soul and Spirit that God sees! However, the inner man can become so strong that the outer man resembles the inner man…and vice versa can happen. You can be so bitter in the outer man that you change your inner man. However, there is one small catch to ignite the inner man…you have to be covered in the shed blood of Jesus and be reborn. You cannot have this inner man active if you’re not accepting of Jesus. You may try in all the earthly ways to ignite it, but all that will fail and leave you more and more addicted to the things of the world. Empty voids are in the center of every unbeliever…they despair more easily. They are more known for their ability to be unhappy and more contented to be so. Because at the root of every person we are not complete with out that inner man! The Spirit within us that guides us through life is not found in the fleshly items of this world but by God’s grace and mercy, and his redemptive power. Jesus’ blood shed at calvary is the way we bridge the Gap to God. By accepting Jesus christ, as Lord and Redeemer, you build that bridge to God and the Spirit ignites within you.

That is how the fruits of the spirit are shown and begin to be formed in a person’s life. The Spirit within begins to earn for change in the human condition. It does not work in the grand scheme instantly, but a progress. Becoming more and more like Jesus is a long journey called life. There are a series of choices to be made, and the ultimate end will be to be improved in Christ, or to turn away. Serving Jesus through the Spirit of God is not an easy task, nor is it a ‘fast’ ‘get rich’  scheme. It’s growth and change, there are growing pains and great rewards. But the ultimate goal is not to be selfishly storing these things up for ourselves but displaying them for the world to see as the light of God. There is so much despair and distraught in the World because they are following the path of sin, but they need to see the hope of Jesus—the hope that He brings to us by way of Salvation. The Hope of God filling our lives and teeming over with the blessings and good cheer. Now, that does not mean you don’t have seasons of sadness etc but there is a brighter hope in the end that it will all be done for the better of you! And in the end…the ultimate end: where will you be? In heaven dwelling in eternal love and light of God or in the clutches of the deceiver who robs and steals all from you, Satan? And who all will follow your footsteps into that path you walk? These are the things of the end that are often missed as we think about being Christian

In today’s world…there seems tobe a mockery of the Spirit…but they’re mocking not just the Holy Spirit but themselves as well. Internally we too are those Spirit beings…such a grievous thing to have happen in the Church today! The CHURCH. The fellowship of believers is supposed to be a place where the Spirit moves and breathes among them, displaying the loving tenderness of God…not the cruelty and judgements of the world. What has happened? The people have forgotten it is not of ‘their’ doing. It is by the Spirit of God in us through Christ Jesus that we have the signs, wonders, and miracles…the Pentecost was not about ‘them’ it was about  the Holy Spirit coming as Promised by Jesus. Jesus said he would not forsake those who followed, leaving them to be wandering alone and aimlessly…that he would send a comforter and guide. To mock such a gift, is slander and needs to be checked out! If someone is mocking the Spirit…they have serious issues with being a Christian. Are they even so? Now…that does not mean you cannot joke about the Spirit of God, but when I say mock the spirit…I am talking about shoving people down to “be healed”, walking around covering Church bathrooms in Spit…to ‘cast demons out’. These are things that are distrubing and a mockery of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit does not need to be ‘conjured’ up! He’s ALREADY THERE! You have to get your human self out of the picture and let God work. Christianity is not witch craft, sococery, or any magic! It’s just God working through people…who are balanced, seeking God, and walking out their journey through Christ Jesus. Where did the Church take a huge detour? Where did these strange imbalances come from?
It’s simple…
Very very simple.

The Church is no longer following the Holy Spirit’s direction, but it is seeking it’s own direction through media, culture, and itself. The Church in America has lost her touch…Lost her ability to connect to God himself (“The Church” is the national look at Christianity in America). The balance of God is gone from the Church in America. It is more extreme because the culture of America is all about the extremes…driven by the Media Industry instead of God. Driven by the competition to have the largest church, rather than seeking God’s desires for it. It’s focus is no longer on doing the will of God…but rather the will of Man himself. the Church in America needs to repent and turn from dead works…or else this is not going to be a pretty sight. It will only grow worse…See Sodom and Gomorrah. Pray…Seek…Listen..Read..BALANCE.
